HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/04/1948 - Regular Minutes - City Council (2)MINUTES OF CALLED MEETING February 4, 19~ The City Council met in a called session February &, 1948 with the following members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Badgett, Black, Brown and 0rr; City Secretary McGinnis and City Manager Vaugh~. After a discussion Coumcilmam Orr moved that the City make a par~-payment %o the Dale Construction Company for work performed on their eontrac~ with the City of College Station, the balance to be due only when the work has been accepted by the City, and introduced the following resolution. Seconded by Councilman Black with a unanimous vote in favor of the motion. RE$OLUTI ON WHEREA~ the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas has authorized the payment of outstanding obligations of the City of College Station, Texas, in the amount of Six Thousand ($S, O00.O0) Dollars, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: THAT the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to borrow on the general credi~ of the City of College Station, Texas, the sum of Six Thousand Do lla rs. PASSED AND APPROVED this ,th day of February, 19A~. Councilman Brown made a motion that the Council establish the sales price for lots in the Cem~ery to be $1.00 per square foot except in Block "H" where the price shall be $0.~0 per square foot. Councilman Badge%t seconded the motion am~ the vote was unanimous in favor of the motion. Coumcilmam Black made a motion that the City Comucil offer ~o the Mother's and Dad's Club of A. & M. Consolidated School the right to sell lots in the Cemetery, the club to receive %eh per cent of all cash payments on lots an~ five per cent on deferred payments. The motion was seconded by Councilman Orr and the vote was unanimous in favor of the motion. A~test:
