MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
April 4, 1963
THE STATE OF TEXAS I
COUNTY OF BRAZOS 0
On this the 4th day of April, 1963, the city council of the City of
College Station, Texas, convened in special session at the regular meeting
place thereof with the following members present, to -wit:
Ernest Langford
Mayor
J.
A.
Orr
Councilman
A.
P.
Boyett
Councilman
A.
L.
Rosprim
Councilman
J.
H.
Sorrels
Councilman
K.
A.
Manning
City Secretary
and the following absent: Councilmen D. A. Anderson and C. W. Landiss,
constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings had were the following:
Councilman Boyett introduced a resolution and order and moved its
adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Sorrels, and the motion
carrying with it the adoption of the resolution and order prevailed by
the following vote, AYES: all, NOES: none.
The resolution is as follows:
There came on to be considered the returnes of an election held on
the 2nd day of April, 1963, for the purpose of electing the hereinafter
named officials and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally made,
that there were cast at said election 572 valid and legal votes; that each
of the candidates in said election received the following votes:
FOR COUNCILMAN
WARD I: J. A. Orr 150
M. L. Cashion 141
WARD II: R. R. Rhodes 116
Gene Sutphen 84
WARD III: Antone Rosprim 63
E. C. Garner 16
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS:
That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was
} given in accordance with law, and that said election was held in-acco.tdance
with law, and that J. A. Orr, R. R. Rhodes, and Antone Rosprim were duly.-

elected councilmen of said city at said election and said above named parties
® are hereby declared duly elected to said respective offices, subject to the
taking of their oaths as provided by the laws of the State of Texas

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE

That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was

with law, and that all amendments were approved at said election, and that
the mayor is directed to file a certified copy of said amendments with the
Secretary of State.
