Brown, Jr., James R. Brown, Harrison Hierth On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Orr, Council- man Sorrels' request that he be excused from this meeting was granted. A public hearing on Ordinance No. 346, an ordinance determining to assess a part of the cost of improving Fairview Avenue, was set for 7:00 p.m. No objection was offered and the mayor declared the hearing closed. Lal vi On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Anderson, Ordinance < No. 350, an ordinance closing hearing and levying assessments for a part of UJ CL the cost of improving a portion of Fairview Avenue, was passed and approved. A public hearing was called on the question of rezoning a 115' strip of land in the Gorzycki Addition. On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Boyett, Ordinance No. 351, an ordinance rezoning a 115, strip 0 of land in the Gorzycki Addition from District No. 2, Second Dwelling House co District, to District No. 5, Second Business District, was passed and approved. On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, the city manager and mayor were authorized to purchase lot 13, block 9, College Hills Estates from Mr. E. M. White. Purchase price is to be $10,000 with a down payment in the amount of $2,500 and payment of $2,500 in each of the years 1963, 1964 and 1965. On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Orr, the city attorney was instructed to prepare an ordinance closing a street in the 500 block of Fidelity with the city maintaining a 20 foot utility easement. The matter of purchasing anew police car was tabled until the next meeting and City Manager Boswell was instructed to investigate the possibilities of purchasing an interceptor. On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, Ordi- ® nance No. 352, an ordinance authorizing the issuance of $ 35,000 Electric Light and Power System Revenue Bonds, was passed and approved. 41 MY On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Landiss, the bid of Moroney, Beissner & Co., Inc. on the sale of $35,000 Light and Power System Bonds was accepted. e LSI UJ 0177� 7� CL' O Q M t l0 V LU 1A EL Cb 0 M The city manager, city engineer, and mayor were authorized to ask for a conference with the officials of A & M College to discuss the closing of the street in front of the post office.
