Having worked with her for some time I can attest that she is a very valuable asset for our community. Colleen Risinger, former Project HOLD volunteerI can think of no one more qualified than Anne Boykin to hold the position of Programs Coordinator. What she has accomplished in that role is amazing. In addition, she puts a very human and approachable face on city government. Everyone loves visiting with Anne and sharing stories, and she is always interested in what they have to say. She truly is a good will ambassador to the citizens. Katherine Edwards, CS residentAnne, thanks for the Newsletter; I was especially glad to see see the photo of the original court house; My husband used to complain about the tearing down of that building and replacement with the plain vanilla one. Thanks for the great job you do as coordinator! Janet Frame Today's History Luncheon was delightful in every way. Robert Borden's presentation was expectedly informative and overall hospitality flowed freely. I am so pleased to be a part of a city which supports such programs contributing to the quality of life for its citizens. Your role, Anne, is essential to its success. Thank you for the superior and dedicated work you do in creating and managing. You are appreciated, Janet Quiram, retired history teacher 3/2 City of College Station Parks and Recreation Department HERITAGE PROGRAMS PROGRESS REPORT JULY 2011 Anne Boykin Heritage Programs Coordinator This is to inform you that this is a very interestering and informative program that is enjoyed by my wife and me, along with several friends. This program is efficiently run by Ms Anne Boykin and is probably attented by an estimated 100 citizens each month (mostly Senior Citizens). Please find it in your heart and budget a way to continue this program at the Conference Center. Don Moore, CS residentI maintain the Brazos Heritage Society's new blog -Heritage Brazos. I have added the link to Project HOLD.What I would like for you to consider is writing a quarterly article for Heritage Brazos, beginning next month, bringing to the attention of our readers events in College Station that deal with the City's history, including links and pictures. While I note the City's website has some of this information on it, it would not hurt to put it out there via an additional venue.venue.Please give it some thought. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call.Dan Beto, Brazos Heritage SocietyMs Boykin is doing an outstanding and remarkable job of the preservation of College Station history and making it available to the citizens. She is the heart and soul of this program. College Station citizens and council should be extremely proud of what she has accomplished and continues to build upon. I am not aware of any other similar sized city that has such a viable program to explore and preserve it's history. I have sat in Ms. Boykin's office on several occasions and listened to her enthusiastically explain the latest historical gem she has uncovered. We are fortunate to have someone so dedicated and the citizens get a big bang for the buck from her efforts. Dean Thompson, CS resident 4/2
