HomeMy WebLinkAboutLearn to Swim Program - 1950-60's COLLEGE STATION - LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM
I. Be On Time::
II. A pleasant, enthusiastic attitude is contagious. A pleasing attitude
will assist you in gaining the child's confidence.
III. Be strict but be fair.
IV. You must stay with your group and give them your undivided attention
for the full 30 minutes. Your aide will get any supplies needed.
V. Meet with your group each day in the same area by the fence. When
your group is assembled, lead them to the water.
VI. You will have 5 -6 students to work with per session.
VII. Each child will remain in his classification for the entire three
week session.
VIII. With the Beginners, Tadpoles, and Frogs it is recommended that you
have students in the water with you on an individual basis. Allow
the remainder of your class to either sit on the side (in an orderly
fashion) or stand in single file with the next student sitting on
the edge. Be sure that the child in the water reaches the edge before
turning your attention to the next child.
IX. You will be given lesson guides for each session (1 -12).
X. Les and I will be having tests periodically. Each child will be
graded in one of three ways:
A. X = Fail
B. J = Fair, needs work
C. OK = Pass
XI. Should you have any problems call Les or me.
