HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/03/1968 - Special Minutes - City Councilw 0 0MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING April 3, 1965 THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF BRAZOS On this the 3rd day of April, 1965, the city council of the city of College Station, Texas, convened in special session at the regular meeting place thereof with the following members present, to -wit: D. A. Anderson, Mayor Homer B. Adams, Councilman Robert R. Rhodes, Councilman A. P. Boyett, Councilman A. L. Rosprim, Councilman Don Dillon, City Attorney A 1� and the following absent: Councilmen Bill J. Cooley and 0. M. Holt, constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings had were the following: Councilman Adams introduced a resolution and order and moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Boyett and the motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution and order prevailed by the following vote, AYES: all, LTJ NOES: none. WThe resolution is as follows: (L Cb There came on to be considered the returns of an election held on the 2nd day of April, 1965, for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named officials, and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election 1,555 valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates in said 0 election received the following votes: 0 M FOR MAYOR D. A. Anderson Don Dale 1,095 460 FOR COUNCILMAN PLACE II James H. Dozier 953 Homer B. Adams 555 Joseph McGraw 1 FOR COUNCILMAN PLACE IV 0. M. Holt 1,045 William B. Boyett 452 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was given in accordance with law, and that said election was held in accordance with law, and that D. A. Anderson was duly elected Mayor of said city at said election and James H. Dozier, 0. M. Holt, and Theo R. Holleman were duly elected Councilmen of said city at said election, and that said above named parties are hereby declared duly elected to said respective offices, subject to the taking of their oaths as provided by the laws of the State of Texas.
