The quality of any park facility /recreation program
is what makes it worth utilizing /participating in.
In keeping with this truism, the College Station Parks & Recreation
Department: initiated a pilot project -- flowers -in- the -park.
Various flower beds were set up:
- four at Thomas Park(at park signs)
- plantings at Thomas Pool
- plantings at Bee Creek Park pool
- at Bee creek Park sign
- at Brazos county Arboretum sign
- at flagpole at Bee Creek ball field
Flowers have done generally well. Relatively easy to take care of at
sites where water is readily available; park sites have been more difficult
since water had to be transported. Hot Texas weather is not very helpful.
