Jackson Schmidt, CHS Class of '59 Your letter was perfect and I truly appreciate the very kind remarks you made throughout. Your support of our nomination this year will push us over
the top; I am confident of it. Will McWhorter, Texas Historical Commission Dear Susan (Irza), You gave a great introduction today at lunch. The talk was interesting, and I really wish
there had been time for the people there to have told more College Station history. The food was great too. I sat with the Lincoln Center members, and they commented on the good food.
I plan to come to next month's meeting too. Sherry Ellison Way to go Girl ! You are having an AWESOME week. David Gerling I like the new "Fridge Flyer" and have downloaded two copies,
one for the Fridge and one for the computer table. Neat-o! Peggy Hope We had dinner at Cafe Excell that night and spent 6 hours on the A&M campus yesterday with your map of historic
buildings, stopping to go inside many of them and to read all the historic markers. We even had lunch in the old cafeteria building. By 3:30 we were ready for a serious nap, but headed
home instead. We'll have to see the rest of the list on another visit. Thanks VERY much for the packet of brochures. It was much appreciated and we read through a lot of it. Sorry we
didn't make it to the Veteran's trail, but that will leave something for next time. We found the 'spirit' of the students to be exceptionally helpful -many came up to us (with our map
open) and asked if they could help. And a Corps director came out and answered our questions about their uniforms at the Corps Museum. Rather a different attitude than at UT. What a
huge campus! Hope to to see you in Austin sometime soon. Phoebe Allen

City of College Station Parks and Recreation Department HERITAGE PROGRAMS PROGRESS REPORT JULY 2011 Anne Boykin Heritage Programs Coordinator I'm guessing that her husband was Ken Brundidge,
who headed meteorology and allowed me to climb that slim tower at the east side of the Oceanography Building roof years ago and shoot a photo looking into the face of the large radar
dish up there. Her papers will be a fantastic addition of your files. Just goes to show that she appreciated what you are doing. Jerry Cooper I really enjoyed Robert Borden's talk yesterday
and I look forward to hearing Judge McDonald in September. You have done a very good job with this series. Blanche Brick, CS Council Member Anne, thanks for the Newsletter; I was especially
glad to see the photo of the original court house; My husband used to complain about the tearing down of that building and replacement with the plain vanilla one. Thanks for the great
job you do as coordinator! Janet Frame Today's History Luncheon was delightful in every way. Robert Borden's presentation was expectedly informative and overall hospitality flowed freely.
I am so pleased to be a part of a city which supports such programs contributing to the quality of life for its citizens. Your role, Anne, is essential to its success. Thank you for
the superior and dedicated work you do in creating and managing. You are appreciated, Janet Quiram, retired history teacher I just wanted to let you know I got all of the pictures developed
into poster size and they turned out great!! Thank you so much for all your help! Katherine Portner, The Original Fried Pie Shop (They are using Project HOLD photos in their new shop.)
