Ethyl Walton Burgess
Mrs. H.E. Burgess (Ethyl Walton
Burgess) died at her home in College
Station on Thursday morning,
January 30, 1997. She was bom in
Carthage, Texas on October 20,
1907, and has been a life -long resi-
dent of College Station, where her
father was President of Texas A &M
for 28 years. Mrs. Burgess was
active in her church and community.
She is survived by her daughter and
son -in -law Lou and Red Cashion; by
her grandchildren Joyce and Bicker
Cain, Jim and Mary Cashion, Sharon
• Cashion, and Shelley and Bob
White; and six great - grandchildren,
Cashion and Field Cain, and Caitlin,
Colter, Mason, and Marshall
Cashion. Her family includes many
beloved nieces and nephews. Mrs.
Burgess was a former teacher and
principal at A &M Consolidated
High School and a lifetime teacher
of the Bible. Mrs. Burgess was pre-
ceded in death by her husband of 57
years, Hershel E. Burgess. A Family
Graveside Service will be held 10:00
AM Friday at College Station
Cemetery. A Memorial Service will
follow at 2:00 PM Friday, at First
Baptist Church of Bryan. Dr. Tim
Owens, of First Baptist Church will
officiate.
