She was a member of the Wellborn Baptist Church for over 60
years where she taught the same Sunday school class for several
decades. She was a Co- Founder and continuing supporter of the
Brazos Valley Rehabilitation Center. She loved gardening and
always had vegetables and flowers that she provided her tender
loving care and the power of her green thumb. She was an avid fan
of Texas A&M sports teams and the Houston Astros and could
always tell you when each team was playing and how they were
doing. Her most important trait was her care and compassion
for friends and family. She never missed an opportunity to visit a
sick friend or family member on the phone or in person and take
some food to be supportive. She did this until her very last days.
Her life of unconditional love for others was the way she started
each day. She was fortunate to have lived her life independently
until February 9 ± .
All of her grandchildren lovingly called her "Nana ". She was
one of those beautiful, caring individuals who connected with
every generation of friends and family. Her laughter and sense
of humor are things we will always remember. She will always be
loved and sorely missed by all of her family and friends. Her spirit
will be with us always although her earthly journey has ended.
