MISS TEENAGED. CANDIDATE
Sherry Holland, a senior at A &M Consolidated High
r School, will compete in Saturday's finals of the Miss
Teenager of America Contest for the Houston area.
A written examination, interviews with the judges,
and a three - minute talent presentation are scheduled.
Miss Holland is a twirler with the Consolidated Band,
band president, editor of the yearbook, and secretary
of the student council. She was runner -up for A &M
Journalism Workshon Queen last summer

Set Saturday
A &M Consalidated's annual
band carnival the time for
family fun and frolic — is sched-
uled for Saturday night on the
school campus.
A big turnout is expected, ac-
cording to Mrs. Frank Brown
III, carnival chairman, who
pointed out that proceeds will
be used to purchase band in-
struments and music, and to pay
for other band expenses. New
games, prizes and food await
participants in the carnival, she
commented.
Food serving begins at 5:30 in
tIIe school cafeteria. Mrs. George
Huebner is chairman of the corn:.
Ottee. Various food and drink
items will also be available on
the slab.
The "midway" will include a
fortune teller, tattooist, a fish
pond and other attractions.
Other drawing cards for the
carnival include a country store,
a spook house, a beauty bar, a
variety show in the auditorium
by senior band members, a
"duck float ", a football snapping
contest. Numerous prizes are of-
ferred.
Members of the College Sta-
tion Lions Club are among the
many volunteer workers who
plan to make the carnival the
biggest and best ever.
