Subject: Historical records regarding College Station Schools
The Historic Preservation Committee of the City of College Station, Texas, is seeking to
document the design and construction of early school buildings here from as early as 1939.
We understand the firm Caudill Rowlett Scott, Architects, may have been involved in such
design or construction prior to its move from College Station to Houston in 1957. At that
time, the firm's name was changed and it was reorganized into three divisions, CRS
Design, Inc., CRS Production, Inc., and CRS Supervision, Inc. to reflect the broader
architectural and engineering activities in which it was involved.
It is our hope that the early records were maintained and moved with the company, or
archived and their location noted. However, with the split into three divisions, it is
probable that only one would have been involved in saving design plans and construction
notes.
If you are aware of such history or location of old records, please refer us to the subsidiary,
department or individual who may assist us.
Thank you,
