LOCAL GOVERNMENT EMERGENCY EXERCISE
SUNDAY AFTERNOON - DECEMBER 6, 1981
This exercise was conducted as planned in the attached outline.
It was kicked off by a 2 P.M. announcement of the National Weat-
her Service Office in Waco that was broadcast over the local an-
tenna in Hensel Park.
Public officials of Brazos County, Bryan, College Station, Texas
A&M University and R&d Cross at the Courthouse EOC performed it's
functions.
At the parking area of the Brazos Center representatives of the
Police and Fire Departments handled the simulated disaster situa-
tion and communicated by radio with the EOC on the situation, prob-
lems, solutions and progress. RACES performed Communications at
the site of the disaster, the hospitals and the EOC.
The simulated disaster victims were 40 Texas A&M Students prepared
by Laura Kitzmiller of the TAMU Department of Health and Physical
Education. They were transported by ambulances to the Bryan Hos-
pital and St. Joseph Hospital for their emergency exercises.
This exercise concluded with a session which the procedures were
evaluated and suggestions made for improvement with good participa-
tion. It was a good exercise and the test of the emergency plans
was a success.
