Jake Canglose Presiding: 1. The Auditors Office moved March 2, 1977 to the offices vacated by the Health Department. This removed the Computors from this Civil Defense office where they have operated the past two and one -half years. 2. Jake Canglose discussed the excellent Publication on Hazardous Materials- Emergency Action Guide, which was distributed by Darrell L. Brooks, instructor for trans - poration Safety Institute, OklahomaCity, at the annual Prepardness Conference in Austin, T xas, February 16, 1977. Mr. Brooks presents a two day training program at the request of Civil Defense Units, He is booked about one year ahead. Robert L ansford, at the Texas D.E.S. Office in Austin is onr contact if we are in- terested in applying for this training. In response to Jakes request for interest in asking for this trifling, Odel, Bardell and Judge Vance felt it should be explored, alos check with TAMU Engineering Extension Service for their suggestions. We should order a supply of these publicatons. 3. Other items of the Austin meeting were discussed by Col. W.E. Sheir with some emphasis on the need for, in our local disaster plans, a section concerning Energy - What will we do if our city or country runs out of fuel, comfort, jobs Also: Crisis planning for moving people to Host Areas. Need plans for what we would do. We need to be able to tie together every unit of gov- ernment and private interest. An effective cooperating unit to cope with disaster of any kind. 4. The courthouse EOC capabilities were discussed. Further considerations are in progress. Judge Vance advised the large (35KW *) Stewart,Venson standby generator was moved to the courthouse from the old Bryan Hospital. This re- places the old (1942) SKW unit that has served the Civil Defense and Commission€:rs' offices. The new unit can service the whole courthouse, light, heat and air condition- ing. The City of Bryan is continuing pland to equip_the Bryan Council room to serve as our EOC.
