Hand -Held TRANSCEIVER
ACCESSORIES
For more versatile operation, a remote speaker- microphone is available for use
with the transceiver. This unit in operation is illustrated at left. A three foot
cord plugs into the top of the transceiver, disabling the transceiver's self
contained speaker- microphone. A push -to -talk switch on the remote unit pro-
vides for complete control of the transceiver. A spring clip permits fastening
of the remote speaker- microphone to coat lapels or similar articles of clothing
.. ) ./.... ' ' ° for monitoring with both hands free. Price: $9.95 each when purchased
separately; when purchased with transceiver $5.50
Also illustrated at left is the leather carrying case constructed of heavy
cowhide leather with a black finish. The shoulder strap is adjustable, and two
slots on the back of the case allow it to be supported by a belt. A speaker
opening in the front of the case
,, ,.-,. permits monitoring when the trans- -
ceiver is in the case and the re-
mote speaker- microphone is not
being used. The top is open for
ready access to the controls. ,

The system carrying case illustrated above is designed to provide a con -
' venient means of carrying two transceivers with individual leather carrying
cases, one battery charger, and two remote speaker- microphones. An
additional compartment is provided for miscellaneous storage. Overall
outside dimensions are 10" by 14" by 4 ", and the total weight when fully
loaded is 14 pounds. Price: $15.00 when purchased separately; when
purchased with contents $9.95
The Model PS -2 battery charger is designed to charge either one or two
{ . ' "' batteries. A full charge for batteries which have been completely discharged
requires about 15 hours. The illustration shows the charger with one
;.
battery in place. An internal protective device provides for constant
: fr charging current and prevents overcharge. The batteries may be left on
the charger indefinitely without damage. Price: $22.50 when purchased
separately; when purchased with transceiver $19.95
N;. The RADIOCOM Model 54C -1 is priced complete as shown on the preceeding

Here is the first Citizen's Band hand -held transceiver with a power of five watts f
the legal maximum. The full power, all- transistor transmitter is combined with
a highly sensitive, crystal - controlled receiver to provide a compact, 2 pound
transceiver without any compromise of quality. The self- contained nickel cadmium .,
battery has a husky capacity of 1.5 ampere hours — enough for 75 hours of
receiver operation, or 50 hours of average transmit and receive operation. And,
b
when it is discharged, the battery can be easily snapped loose and placed on
the charger for recharging.
The three watt power output of the RADIOCOM Model 54C -1 leaves all other
milliwatt units far behind — you can finally have the range you need in a hand
held transceiver, and at the same time retain all the features and quality neces-
sary for reliable communication. This claim is backed up by a full one year '"
warranty which covers all materials and labor; no charge whatsoever is made '
It for warranty repairs. ,s .. , _ , ,
The transmitter is conservatively designed for plenty of reserve power capacity 4 t ,, ` %
and long life. The frequency is crystal controlled to a .005% tolerance. A three- ' K Y
watt push -pull modulator provides high level modulation of at least 80% with low '' r '' ,. i ,iii,.' i,.'
distortion on the modulated envelope. 44I‘`,,-'' • ''
The all- transistor superhet receiver has just about anything you could ask for in a (
a receiver of any size: RF amplifier, two IF amplifiers, crystal controlled local , ° -, ::. 4 ',0 91 5.- -4
oscillator, automatic series noise limiter, squelch, and, of course, the assurance of
proven dependability. As a result, the sensitivity is better than 0.5 microvolt for 17.
a 10 db signal -to -noise ratio, the spurious response is down better than 60 db,
the adjacent channel selectivity is 40 db, and the entire receiver draws less than
20 milliamperes on standby operation. You can leave it on all day for monitoring
and the battery will need only one recharge each week.
The full -power performance of the Mode 54C -1 is also available in the Model 54C -2, `
which has a connector for an external antenna so that it may be used as either I.
a mobile or base station. For mobile operation you don't need the nickel cadmium
batteries or any other power supply; it will operate directly from any 12 -volt
battery and can be mounted almost anywhere in your car or truck. For base
station power, you can use either the rechargeable battery or an accessory 12 -volt
power supply for operation from 115 volts AC. ,
