Dept. of Oceano and Meteorology Texas A. and M. College College Station, Texas Dear Sirs In reply to your letter dated January 13, 1961, the flood stage at Valley Junction is 44 feet. The river gage at Bryan is not a Weather Bureau gage, therefore there is no set flood stage officially designated for the Bryan Station. The U.S. Engineers profile of the Brazos river would indicate that in the vicinity of the Bryan gage flood stage is about 42 feet. However, a few miles on either side the ban are lower and there is lowland flood— ing whenever the river reaches 35 feet or higher on the Valley Junction gage.
