She agreed to take a look at a written proposal and that, although Voice 4082602635 it sounded interesting to her personally, she didn't think it quite fit within their Fax 408 646 8224 ww.arkite;.aom "mission ". w Sometimes they do local history books, but they should have broader interest compo- nents, as well. Historic Guidelines As I get further into this task, I realize that it has gone beyond my capability to commit the sufficient time necessary to do a good job. Our options are to find a committee member with more time available to commit to the project or we might consider applying for a grant from the Texas Historical Commision through their "Certified Local Government Grants Program ". The purpose of this grant program is to "provide the necessary training and funding to enable local communities to develop quality programs and fully participate in the state's preservation process." Grants typically range from $250 to $5500. Principals A grant such as this could be used to fund a graduate student's research project Charlie Burris, AIA (perhaps and architectural preservation student) dedicated to our task. cburris@arkitex.com Chad 6rauke, AIA cgrauke@arkitex.com Dr. Elton Abbott, AIA eabbott@arkitex.com inks Tibbetts, AIA Elton Abbott, AIA metibb@swbell.net Austin Office Voice 512/244 -7870 Fax 512/244-0237 WANTED WHO: Individuals or descendants of individuals who grew up on A &M College campus whose parents were A &M professors, staff or support.
