Agenda Item #1: Call to Order
Meeting was called to order at 4:20 p.m.
Agenda Item #2: Absence Request
Agenda Item #3 & #4: Hear Visitors

Agenda Item #5: Approval of the minutes
Meredith made the motion and Colleen seconded the approval of the minutes from the
June 4, 2007 meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
Project updates
Agenda Item #6: Exploring History Lunch Lectures
It was noted that Warren Finch, Director, George Bush Presidential Library and Museum,
was very well received at the June lecture. Bob Waters will be speaking in July on the
history of our local churches.
Agenda Item #7 Historic Markers
The marker guidelines were edited and reformatted. Anne re- designed the marker brochure.
The inquiry letters, guidelines and brochures will be mailed July 2 to the homeowners
previously identified by the sub - committee.
Agenda Item #8 Oral History Project
Anne reported that Mary Hamlin, Oral History Team, continues to record oral histories.
She has completed several more interviews with Sarah June Goode.
Agenda Item # 9: Project HOLD
Anne reported that Sharon Colson and Jon Bennett of KAMU have approached the
Historic Preservation Committee and Project HOLD volunteers about helping them with a
one hour program on WWII veterans to air at Wolf Pen Creek, Sept. 23. The program will
precede Ken Burns' newest production The Great War.
Agenda Item #10: Bill Lancaster Recognition
Colleen researched background information on Bill to include in the letter from the Mayor
to be presented at the Exploring History Lunch Lecture, July 18. She has also extended an
invitation to Mary Lancaster and their family to attend. Anne is assembling a memory
shadow box to present to him, as well. Hillary will make the presentation.
Agenda Item # 11: Calendar Events
Peggy introduced the Citizens Congress II — Neighbor to Neighbor that will be held Sept.
22 at the Conference Center. The goal is to bring together off - campus students and
community residents to discuss issues concerning their neighborhoods. The HPC will host
a table that day with information about Project HOLD, the marker program and the
Exploring History Lunch Lectures.
