HomeMy WebLinkAboutEX Postcard 07_15_09email June 30, 2009 Dear Friends of History, I wonder how many of us have said, “I’ll think about that tomorrow,” and immediately thought of Miss Scarlett O’Hara, Rhett Butler and Ashley Wilkes. How many times have we seen a shriveled carrot in the vegetable bin and thought, “As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again.” It’s fascinating how a re-enactment can bring a story to life and transport us back in time. The Liendo Plantation is a living example of the true Southern hospitality that still permeates our daily lives. This month, Michele Wendt will tell us about this grand mansion, its history and the annual Civil War re-enactment they host each year. So don’t “think about this tomorrow”! Reserve your spot for the award winning Exploring History Lunch Lecture Series TODAY!
