720 guests, 22 comp’d (13-Lincoln Center, 9 speaker and staff), donations $235, meal cost $575.25. • • February 24 – Recorded a radio interview with Penny Zent, KAMU, regarding the “Museum
of the American G.I. Open House” and the Project HOLD oral history tent at the event. Research Requests – 5 • Bill Page, TAMU Evans Library –The original deed transferring the College
Station Cemetery from the Methodist Church says that one condition of the gift was that an area would be set aside as an appropriate memorial to the original donors. Do you know if such
a memorial was ever built? Answer from Ross Albrecht, CS Cemetery: There is a state historical marker at the flagpole/fountain area detailing the history including the Rector's. The
department's opinion is that the flagpole/fountain/landscaped area with this marker satisfies the intent of the deed. • Don Fazzino, Citibank – Looking for information on restoration
and preservation of his mother’s Gene Autry scrapbook. I put him in touch with Shelley Michel, Creative Memories. She is rebuilding the book and will scan in some of the photos. • Councilman
Crompton Crompton would like to see an update of our one city history book and a PARD history in time for the 75th anniversary in 2013. • Jerry Cooper, Landmark Commission – Asked about
the status of the interpretive signage for the American Mile; still checking • GIS, City of CS – Seeking clarification of the terms and spelling of North Gate, West Gate, East Gate and
Southside. (As illustrated.) Publicity –1 mailing; 16 viewings
• Sent email to Heritage Programs database and media contacts regarding the Exploring History Lunch Lecture Series. • Exploring History Lunch Lecture showing on CSTV-19 on Tuesdays,
4 a.m. and 4 p.m. Oral History Interviews – 0 Publications –2 • Designed and uploaded 3 web pages and 20 .pdf documents for the Conference Center • Re-designed and uploaded 4 web pages
for Heritage Programs Historic Markers – 0 • Currently, 85 Historic Home Markers, 8 Building Markers and 2 Historic Subject Markers • Sent an historic building marker application packet
to Mrs. Robbie Clark for her church Community Outreach -5 • February 3 – Met with David Coleman, Tony Cisneros, David Gerling, Mary Ann Powell to discuss the legal issues concerning
a potential historic site on the City of College Station property for El Camino Real de los Tejas. • February 6 – Hosted the first planning meeting for the El Camino Real de los Tejas
committee. 9 in attendance. • February 9 – Attended Brazos County Historical Commission meeting. • February 11 – Attended Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial Board meeting • February 25
– Attended “100 Years of Class” organizational meeting at CSISD • February 27 – Attended Coffee with the Mayor; Conference Center INTERNAL Intern –0 hours No intern at this time. Volunteers
– 19.0 hours • Vicky Eastes – Open House & Award Application (7.5) • Cory Widner – Scanning (1.5) • Jessica Bunyavong – Database (10.0) Jessica has committed to volunteering 2nd and
4th Mondays from 11:30am – 1:30pm as her school schedule allows. Equipment Status -• Skittles (large format scanner) – Up and running • Fujitsu/Laserfiche scanner – Bit the dust around
the middle of the month • FiFi (NEW Fujitsu 6230 desktop scanner) – Replaced one of the older Fujitsu scanners; up and running as of Feb. 26 • PastPerfect Software – Approved for purchase!
