Board Present: Carla Elliott, Louis Hodges, Tre Watson, Comer Patterson, Sherry Frisk, Gerald Burgner, Lisa Mouton
Council Members Present: Linda Harvell
1. Call meeting to order and consider absence requests. Meeting was called to order at 4:04 p.m., no absence requests received. Tom
Turbiville was an unexcused absence.
2. Hear visitors. None.
3. Agenda Items
3.1 Presentation, discussion, and the possible approval of minutes from
the previous meeting.
Upon a motion made by Sherry Frisk and seconded by Comer Patterson
the minutes were approved as written.
3.2
A. Cemetery No report.
B. Historical Marker Program/Project HOLD Report
The committee received an application for 213 Pershing, upon a motion
made by Comer Patterson and seconded by Lisa Mouton the application was approved unanimously. Kimberly McNally discussed a grant for a new
scanner to digitize more items.
C. Exploring History Lunch Series
The committee discussed getting parameters for speakers on what future
topics can be discussed.
D. College Station Pictorial Book Updates
Per Linda Harvell, it’s coming along great.
E. American Mile
Tom Turbiville was absent, no report.
F. Lone Star Legacy Park designation

Sherry and a couple of the members are gathering data for the Brison Park application, only 65 parks in Texas currently have the Lone Star Legacy
Park designation which is awarded through TRAPS.
G. America’s 250
No report. This item will be permanently removed from the agenda.
3.3 Report by the Liaison of Parks and Recreation on matters pertaining
to the Historic Preservation Board.
No report.
3.4 Identification of upcoming local or area historical programs
Heritage Park in Bryan is having a July 4th celebration and I HEART America
Celebration will be on July 5th at WPC.
4. Discussion and possible action of future agenda items. None.
5. Presentation of historical items
Louis Hodges passed around a magazine.
6. Adjourn.
Upon a motion made by Sherry Frisk and a second by Tre Watson, the HPC voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting @ 5:21 p.m.
