home. Hostesses included Margaret Ann White, Rachel
Mohr, Norma Jean Stokes and Eugenia Williams.
Floral Designs of a Christmas Season on a tubular
stand were exhibited by Carolyn Guillote, "Junk Yard
Beauties;" Sally Koestler, "Winter Solstice;" Millie
Parrack, "Texas Tannenbaum;" Judy Schafer, "Sounds of
Music;" and Heather White, "Scents of Christmas." Idalia
Aguilar, nationally accredited flower show judge, dis-
cussed design guidelines.
President Jane Cohen welcomed new members Sarah
Barrack, Mary Ann Brannen, Kathi Dudley, Renee
Frisbie, Kay Hobbs, Sharon Jasper, Sue Ann Lockard,
Maryan Manson, Sheila May, Lenora Patranella, Maria
Schmahl and Rose Smith. Guests included Penne Cash.
The club voted to offer to host the November 2009
Zone II meeting in College Station.
Heather White gave the nominating committee report,
with voting in January for the 2009 -10 officers: President
Cohen; 1st VP Programs Heather White; 2nd VP
Yearbook /Web Koestler with assistant Barrack; 3rd VP
Flower Show Suzanne Mllstead; 4th VP Hospitality
Williams; Recording Secretary Hobbs; Corresponding
Secretary Aguilar; Treasurer Angelika Hoepfl; Historian
Kay Hamn with assistant Geneva Eubanks; and Reporter
Parrack.
Cohen presented Heather White with a cedar bluebird
house as a hostess gift. Door prizes and favors were
donated by Mary Ann Taylor (compost bin), Patranella
(Meyer lemons), Ellen Pullen (measuring cups), Heather
White (gold pine cones), and White (calendars).
The A &M Garden Club's Civic Landscaping Project at
the Wellborn Community Center received retaining wall
pavers donated by the College Station Wal -Mart. Polly
Hatcher's memorial TAMU Scholarship Fund and pavers to
go in the TAMU Holistic Gardens have been approved by
her family.
The Jan. 9 meeting will be at the Exit Center on
"Invasive Plants," by Barron Rector, extension range spe-
cialist at TAMU.
