ORDINANCE NO. 824
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING A PORTION OF COUNTY ROAD RIGHT -OF -WAY,
RESERVING TO THE CITY A UTILITY EASEMENT ON SAID PROPERTY AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas has determined that
a portion of the OLD COUNTY ROAD in the said City of College Station, Texas, is
not in fact a road, and is not functioning as such at this time; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the advantage of the City to reserve a utility easement on
this road for the construction of sewers, water lines, electrical energy transmission
lines, gas lines, and general utility purposes;
THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS:
1. The portion of OLD COUNTY ROAD described as follows is hereby closed as a
public road:
All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Crawford
Burnett League in College Station, Texas, being a part of the Old County Road right -of-
way lying along and adjoining the northwest line of The Knoll addition to the City of
College Station, Texas, according to a plat of record in Volume 132, Page 493 of the
Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas and being more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the southwest line of Glade Street and the northwest
line of the said The Knoll addition;
Thence S 43 51' W - 1325.56 feet along the northwest line of the said The Knoll
addition to a concrete monument in the northwest line of Lot 9, Block 8 of the said The
Knoll addition;
Thence N 46 09' W - 50.0 feet to the southeast line of that 50.97 acre tract con-
veyed to Woodson Lumber Company of Cameron by C. W. Schwartz and described in
Volume 77, Page 461 of the Deed of Trust Records of Brazos County, Texas;
Thence N 43 51' E - 1326.17 feet along the southeast line of the said Woodson
Lumber Company 50.97 acre tract to the southwest line of Glade Street;
Thence S 45 0 27' E - 50.0 feet along the southwest line of Glade Street to the point
of beginning and containing 1.52 acres of land more or less.
2. An easement described as follows is hereby reserved to the City of College Station,
Texas, for the construction of sewers, water lines, electrical energy transmission
lines, gas lines, and general utility purposes.

west line of the said The Knoll addition;
Thence S 43 51' W - 1325.56 feet along the northwest line of the said The Knoll
addition to a concrete monument in the northwest line of Lot 9, Block 8, of the said The
Knoll addition;
Thence N 46 09' W - 25.0 feet to a point;
Thence N 43 51' E - 1325.87 feet parallel to and 25.0 feet from the northwest line
of the said The Knoll addition, to a point in the southwest line of the said Glade Street;
Thence S 45 27' E - 25.0 feet along the southwest line of the said Glade Street to
the point of beginning and containing 0.761 acres more or less.
3. The condition of the said OLD COUNTY ROAD endangers the safety and health of the
population of the City of College Station, Texas, and it is necessary that an easement for
general utility purposes be reserved to expedite the construction of said utilities, and
it is the determination of the City Council that such facts constitute and create an emergency
and an urgent public necessity, and because of the foregoing it is ORDERED that this
ordinance be passed and take effect as an emergency measure and that same shall be in
full force and effect immediately from and after its passage.
