AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON
THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO PUBLISH NOTICE
OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
SECTION I. On the 28th day of February, 1972, at 7:00 P.M. o'clock, in the City
Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of College Station, Texas, the City Council
will hold a public hearing giving all interested persons the right to appear and be heard
on the proposed annexation by the City of College Station, Texas, of the following
described property, to -wit:
Beginning at an iron pin which is the most westerly corner of the Boyett addition to
the City of College Station. Said point being in the east Right -of -Way line of the
old Highway 6 and said point also being on the common City Limits of the City of
College Station and the City of Bryan.
Thence with the said City Limits line of the City of Bryan and across the Right -of -Ways
of the Southern Pacific Railroad and I. and G. N. Railroads for a distance of approximately
264.0 feet in a southwesterly direction to a point for corner. Said point being in the
westerly boundary of the Southern Pacific Railroad Right -of -Way and the City Limits
line of the City of College Station.
Thence a distance of approximately 2010.0 feet S 37 40' E along and with the present
City Limits line of the City of College Station, said line also being the westerly Right -
of -Way lime of the Southern Pacific Railroad, to a point for corner. Said point being
the northerly corner of the Old Texas A &M Nursery tract and said point being in the
southerly boundary of the Old Sulphur Springs Road Right -of -Way.
Thence a distance of 264. 9 feet N 45 E along and with the present City Limits line of
the City of College Station to a point for corner. Said point also being the most westerly
corner of the Texas A &M University main campus and said point also being in the east
Right -of -Way line of Old Highway 6 and the southerly boundary of the Old Sulphur
Springs Road.
Thence a distance of approximately 2, 003 feet N 37 40' W along and with the present
City Limits line of the City of College Station to the point of beginning and containing
12.17 acres more or less.
SECTION II. The Mayor of the City of College Station is hereby authorized and directed
to cause notice of such public hearing to be published once in a newspaper having general
circulation in the City and in the above described territory not more than twenty days
nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing, all in accordance with the
Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session,
1963; compiled as 970a, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes).

SECTION III. The importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative
public necessity that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at three several meetings
be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, and the ordinance shall take effect and
be in force from and after its adoption.
