Project Committee (Lou and Jane) Nothing new to report. Exploring History Lunch Lectures (Ernie, Jane and Hillary)Anne B. mentioned that representatives of the Museum of the American
GI would like to present a program on their museum at the October 15 lecture. The committee agreed. The pending budget allows for 11 lectures in the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1. Historic
Markers (Meredith and Hillary)
The Committee approved markers for 303 West Dexter and 317 Pershing Avenue. (AT/LH) The marker for 1203 Walton will be reviewed and put to a vote at the next meeting. Oral History Project
(Lou and Anne Steen)Lou’s ongoing work on editing the oral history project was commended. His progress may slow with the beginning of the A&M fall semester. Project HOLD (Lou, Colleen
and Anne Steen) Anne B. reported that a new department and home for Project HOLD has been found at the Conference Center #107. Project HOLD and the HPC will now be under the Parks and
Recreation Department. The space will become available Sept. 22. Also, see attached report. Education Committee (Jane, Ernie, and Lou) See Agenda Item #8. Agenda Item #7: Selection of
new HPC members New members, Lisa Kalmus and Susan Irza, were welcomed to the HPC. Marguerite Anthony’s resignation was accepted. A replacement will be chosen at a later Council date.
Agenda Item #8: 70th Birthday of the City of College Station Anne B. placed a notice of the 70th Birthday in the Utility Bill Insert. She is talking to Costa Dallis about a special reception
former and current mayors and council members at Café Eccel on Oct. 16, 3-5pm. Flyers concerning the card/poster/essay contest will go out to the schools next week. Agenda Item #8: Calendar
