HomeMy WebLinkAbout03 HPC PH PROGRESS REPORT Mar2008 HERITAGE PROGRAMS PROGRESS REPORT Public Communications Anne Boykin March 1 -31, 2008 EXTERNAL Acquisitions –703 pages scanned Presentations – 0 􀂃 A presentation to the Colonial Dames had to be postponed due to Anne’s illness Research Requests – 4 􀂃 Jamie Bassett requested assistance in researching her parents’ home at 3030 West Dexter for an historic home marker 􀂃 John Rhodes requested assistance in finding early photos of Holick’s Boot Shop for a restoration project 􀂃 Daren Cline requested assistance in identifying a “spear” notation on our GIS maps near Wellborn and George Bush Drive. 􀂃 Jason McClure requested assistance in locating photographs of the Bryan-College Interurban 􀂃 Molly Hitchcock (P&DS) and Quimby-McCoy requested assistance in identifying some of the older building locations in the Northgate are for the historic resources survey. 􀂃 Neat Nutall requested assistance in acquiring a formal letter stating the historic or zooming status of a foreclosure property the VFW is researching as a a possible meeting office. Wootan Home, 1205 Walton Drive 􀂃 Markers pending: 0 Community Outreach -4 􀂃 3/28 – Attended moving of Rock Prairie Church; interviewed new owner; took pictures INTERNAL Intern – 16.25 hours 􀂃 Bridal Shower planned for Alyson on April 16, 3 – 5pm in Project HOLD 􀂃 Continued her work on the upcoming exhibit Volunteers – 12 hours 􀂃 Sarah Sundbeck, prior PH volunteer is back to volunteer 3 hours bi-weekly this 􀂃 semester 􀂃 Brian Langhof, TAMU student in Public Communications, will volunteer 3 hours 􀂃 a week this semester 􀂃 Gabriel Copley, TAMU student, will volunteer 2-3 hours a week this semester
