MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
BRYAN + COLLEGE STATION PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD
November 16, 2004

On the 16 day of November 2004, the Bryan + College Station Public Library Advisory Board of the
cities of Bryan and College Station, Texas, me
t in a regular scheduled meeting at the Carnegie History
Center, 111 South Main, Bryan, Texas and the following members were present:

2. Also present were Mrs. Clara Mounce, Community Librarian; Mrs. Laura Mills, Secretary and Olivia
Burnside
of College Station.
3. Larry Ringer called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m.
4. The minutes from the September meeting were approved as distributed.
5. Monthly statistics for September and October 2004 were revie
wed.
6. In old business, Mr. Ringer commented that he felt greatly honored and humbled by the renaming of the
College Station Library to the Larry J. Ringer Library and expressed appreciation for the reception.
7. In new business, Mrs. Mounce stated th
at the Library’s contract with Dynix for the migration to the
Horizon system would be on the City of Bryan Council agenda on November 23, 2004.
The goal is to have
the system updated with staff training completed before summer.
8. In the Librarian’s report, Mrs. Mounce stated that the staff enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Pebble Creek
Country Club th
sponsored by the Friends of the Library as a part of the 50 Anniversary of the Friends
organization. Mrs. Mounce stated that interviews were conducted fo
r the several vacant clerks’ positions.
The staff participated
again in the Salvation Army bell ringing during the holiday season.
9. There were no agenda items for the next meeting scheduled for January 18, 2005 at the Larry J. Ringer
Library.
10. The meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m..
