HomeMy WebLinkAboutGorzycki, Raymond C.-Obit Raymond C. Gorzycki, 82, passed away Tuesday night at his home in Bryan, Texas. Graveside services are at I p.m. today at Cnllege Station Cemetery and a Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. today at St. Thnmas Episcopal Church in College Station. Ray graduated from A&M Consolidated High School and from Texas A&M University in the Class nf J 944, he served in the Army during World War II, married Mary Joyce Countz in 1952 and retired in 1984 as an accountant from Williams Mortgage Co. in Bryan. Thnse whn knew Ray, also known as Gramps, hest loved him for his sense of humor, wit, creativity and kindness. Ray had a love for music, sporls, friends and family. He was known to listen to his iPod, sateIlite radio and CD player while watching two sporting events on Tv, all al full volume. His other hobbies included golf, bowling, dancing and woodworking. He coached Little League and teenage league basehall fnr about 14 years, winning a state championship in 1973. Ray was a past president of the Bryan Kiwanis Club and a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in College Station for 40 years. As one of his favorite pastimes, Ray practiced his golf swing for years as a member of Briarcrest Country Club with friends and the "Seven Studs." He loved as much 'as anyone could love and was loved the same in return. He always loved a good joke, would laugh any chance he had and kept himself young through loving his grandchildren. Ray was preceded by his parents, Harry Victor and Rosalie Kosh Gorzycki, and by his brother, George Clarence Gorzycki. Ray is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce Countz Gorzycki; three sons and two daughter-in. laws, Larry Gorzycki of Dallas, Ken and Kathy Gorzycki of Austin and Rick and Lourdes Gorzycki of Bryan; a brother-in.law, Luke Wayne and Gracie Countz of Huntsville; three nieces, Linda Gorzycki, Diane Gorzycki and her son Scott, all of Austin, and Donna Livingston of Oklahoma City; three nephews, Tommy, Mike and Mark Countz; and five grandchildren Marie, Casey, Drew, Lisa and' Patty Gorzycki.
