HomeMy WebLinkAboutBorski, DonaldColonel Thomas F. Hines • 1923-2006 Colonel Thomas F. Hines, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at the age of 82. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2006 at Hillier Funeral Home from 6 to 8pm. His life will be celebrated with a Funeral Service at lpm on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Hillier Funeral Home. Interment will follow at College Station City Cemetery. Colonel Hines was born August 4, 1923, the son of Robert and Mattie Hines of Millbrook Farm, Spotsylvania, Virginia. He studied and received his degree in Agriculture from Virginia Tech. After 30 years of distinguished and highly decorated service in the United States Air Force, he accumulated 10,000 hours of flying time while serving in World War II, the Korean War and theVietnam War. Among the many distinguished decorations he received, were the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross with 3 Clusters, Bronze Star and seven Air Medals. Colonel Hines instructed the ROTC Program at Texas A&M University from 1964-1967, and served as Military Advisor for the Ross Volunteers. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Janell Westmoreland Hines and family: daughter and Bon- in-law, Laura and Steve Slevin of Austin, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Robert and Mary Hines of Edmond, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Georgia Hines of Bryan, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Sgt. Scott and Michelle Hines of College Station, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Wendy Hines of Bryan, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Lt. Matthew and BeeBee Hines of Bryan, Texas; daughter, Pamela Johnson of Houston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and. Dale Smith of College Station, Texas; and son, Cliff Hager of Houston, Texas; 22 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mattie Hines, and sister Barbara Grimes. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Brazos Valley, 502 W. 26th Street, Bryan, 77803. Hillier Funeral Home
