Men from five subs were repatriated from prison
camps at end of War.
Submarines sank 550/0 of all Japanese (tonnage) 1314 ships
. sunk (more than surface Navy and Army Air Force combined)
Many Japanese ships ran aground after being hit were not
counted in this tonnage. Most never returned to duty.

U S Submarines lost more men percentage wise than any
branch of our services
US lost 180/0 of all Submarines that saw action in WWll
Submarine FINBACK saved President Bush form enemy after
being shot down. Saved many Air Force pilots shot down
during enemy action. 117 pilots saved in 1944 and more in
1945.
The boats removed MacArthur and nurses from Manila
Seven Sub Skippers were awarded the Congressional Medal of
Honor
Germans lost between 700 and 800 submarines in WWll
Japanese lost 128 subs and had only 58 left at end of War
