HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-2150 - Ordinance - 09/28/1995ORDINANCENO._~ AN ORDINANCE LEVYING THE AD VALOREM TAXES FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE GENERAL DEBT SERVICE FUND FOR THE YEAR '1995-96 AND APPORTIONING EACH LEVY FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION I. That there is hereby levied and there shall be collected for the use and support of the municipal government of the City of College Station, Texas, and to provide General Debt Service for the 1995-96 fiscal year upon all property, real, personal and mixed within the corporate limits of said city subject to taxation, a tax of forty-four and fifty one-hundredths cents ($0.4450) on each one hundred dollar ($100.00) valuation of property, and said tax being so levied and apportioned to the specific purpose herein set forth: For the maintenance and support of the general government (General Fund), sixteen and twenty-five one hundredths cents ($0.1625) on each one hundred dollar ($100.00) valuation of property; and For the general obligation debt service, (General Debt Service Fund), twenty- eight and twenty-five one hundredths cents ($0.2825) on each one hundred dollar ($100.00) valuation of property to be used for principal and interest payments on bonds and other obligations of the fund. SECTION I1. All moneys collected under this ordinance for the specific items therein named, shall be and the same are hereby appropriated and set apart for the specific purpose indicated in each item and the Assessor and Collector of Taxes and the Executive Director of Finance Shall keep these accounts so as to readily and distinctly show the amount collected, the amounts expended and the amount on hand at any time, belonging to such funds. It is hereby made the duty of the Tax Assessor and Collector to deliver a statement, at the time of depositing any money, showing from what source such taxes were received and to what account (General Fund or General Debt Service Fund) the funds were deposited. SECTION II1. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 28th DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1995.
