NO. 1-1.4-93-2.13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "APPLICANT", DESIGNATING CERTAIN OFFICIALS AS BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR, ACTING FOR, AND ON BEHALF OF THE "APPLICANT" IN DEALING WITH THE TEXAS PARKS & WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "DEPARTMENT", FOR THE PURPOSE OF PARTICIPATING IN THE GRANT PROGRAMS; CERTIFYING THAT THE "APPLICANT" IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE UNDER SUCH PROGRAMS; AND DEDICATING THE PROPOSED SITE FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION USES. WHEREAS, the United States Congress has passed the Land & Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 (Public Law 88-57.8) for outdoor recreation purposes; and WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has approved the Parks & Wildlife Code, Section 13.309 authorizing the State of Texas, and its political subdivisions, to participate in the federal program established under said Public Law 88- 578; and WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has approved the Parks &.Wildlife Code, Section 24.005 for the purpose of allowing the political subdivisions of the State of Texas to participate in the Texas Local Parks, Recreation & Open Space Fund; and the "Applicant" is fully eligible to receive assistance under these programs; and the "Applicant" is desirous of authorizing an official to represent and act for the "applicant" in dealing with the "Department" concerning these Programs; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE "APPLICANT": SECTION 1: That the "Applicant" hereby certifies that they are eligible to receive assistance under these Programs. Cam' p'�illln- RESOLUTION NO. 1-14-93-2.13 SECTION 2: That the "Applicant" hereby authorizes and directs its City Manager to act for the "Applicant" in dealing with the "Department" for the purpose of these programs, and Ron Ragland is hereby officially designated as the representative in this regard. SECTION 3: The "Applicant" hereby specifically authorizes the official to make application to the "Department" concerning the site to be known as Oaks Park in the City of College Station for use asa park site. That park is hereby dedicated (or will be dedicated upon completion of the proposed acquisition) for public outdoor recreation purposes in perpetuity. DevelopmentCouncil;--and; Mr. -'Cook has been ,diligent -..in his efforts -for the past twenty-six years to` provide.' leadership, and work for the best interests of the local governments :.in. this' region too`. see, that services applicable were made available;` and, WHEREAS, the City of College Station as a result of his efforts, has been the recipient of many of these services; and; WHEREAS, the City of College. Station is desirous of. recognizing such outstanding', service and honor him upon his retirement and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT the service leadership, accomplishments, and friendship of Mr. Cook be gratefully, acknowledged and recognized by declaring Sunday, April 18, 1993, as and urge everyone to recognize Mr. Cook's outstanding service to this community.
