EXECUTIVE SESSION
Monday, January 27, 1997 at 4:30 p.m.
COUNCILMEMBERS PRESENT:Mayor Mcllhaney, Mayor Protem Kennady,
Councilmembers Hickson, Fox, Mariott,
Birdwell, Martin
A.qenda Item No. 1 -- Call to Order
Mayor Mcllhaney called the meeting to order at 4:36 p.m. in the City Hall
Training Room and announced the following item to be discussed in executive
session.
A.qenda Item No. 2 -- Personnel (LGC 551.074)
a. Interview Candidates for Municipal Judge position
The council convened into executive session at 4:36 p.m.
A.qenda Item No. 3 -- Possible action from closed session.
The council completed its executive session at 6:45 p.m and reconvened into
open session to consider the appointment of municipal judge.
Councilman Birdwell moved to direct the Mayor to offer the position of Municipal
Court Judge to Tripp Walter and to negotiate the terms of an annual salary of
$50,000 with city employee benefits. The motion was seconded by Councilman
Fox which carried unanimously, 7-0.
Councilman Birdwell made a motion with a second by Councilman Fox to ask the
Mayor to visit with Mr. Walter about council governance policy, conflict of
interest issues, benefits and reporting procedures.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
