AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11, "SOLID WASTE COLLECTION
REGULATIONS", OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS, BY ADDING A SECTION AS SET OUT BELOW; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; DECLARING A PENALTY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART 1'
That Chapter 11, "Solid Waste Collection Regulations", of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of College Station, Texas, be amended by adding a section
as set out in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part of this ordinance for all
purposes.
PART 2:
That if any provisions of any section of this ordinance shall be held to be void or
unconstitutional, such holding shall in no way effect the validity of the remaining
provisions or sections of this ordinance, which shall remain in full force and
effect.
PART 3:
That any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be punishable by a fine of not less than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) nor
more than Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00). Each day such violation shall
continue or be permitted to continue, shall be deemed a separate offense. These
rates are effective for bills issued on or after October 1, 2002.

EXHIBIT "A"
That Chapter 11, Section 5, "Solid Waste Collection Regulations" of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of College Station, Texas, is hereby amended by adding subsection F as set out hereafter
to read as follows:
COLLECTION RATES
(1) General Rate Provision
Except as otherwise provided in this ordinance, the charges for garbage collection
and disposal shall be assessed according to the following schedule:

Each Residential I dwelling unit utilizing a small automated
refuse container and provided with garbage, rubbish, brush
and recycling collection once weekly.

Additional monthly fee for Residential I dwelling units
having more than one automated refuse container. This
rate shall be assessed for each additional container utilized.

Each Residential II dwelling unit utilizing an automated
refuse container and provided with twice per week garbage
collection, once per week curbside recycling collection and
once per week rubbish/brush collection.
$5.50
Each Residential III dwelling unit utilizing an automated
refuse container for garbage collection only. Service will
be provided twice weekly. Fraternities, Sororities, and
Privately Owned Student Dorms shall not be assessed as
Residential III, and will be charged according to the
variable commercial collection rates listed in Section II of
this Resolution.

Minimum monthly charge for small businesses that jointly
use a commercial-type refuse container without causing a
health, sanitation or litter problem.
Commercial Collection Rates
The monthly per container garbage collection and disposal charge for commercial
locations shall be based on container size, number of containers utilized and
frequency of collection per week.

Additional Charges
The following additional charges will be assessed and collected upon the
performance of the described service or the occurrence of the described use or
condition:

Per cycle fee for usage of the Northgate Promenade
Commercial Compactor. The minimum monthly charge for
small businesses that jointly use a commercial-type refuse
container as described in Section I of this Resolution will
apply until usage exceeds 5 cycles per calendar month.

Daily rental fee for the use of any city-owned, 20 cubic
yard roll-off container.
$2.65
Daily rental fee for the use of any city-owned, 30 cubic
yard roll-off container.
$2.85
Daily rental fee for the use of any city-owned, 40 cubic
yard roll-off container.
$4.00
Per carcass fee for 1 to 19 animal carcasses collected from
a commercial veterinarian, plus a flat rate service charge of
$20.00. Flat rate service charge is waived for 20 or more
animal carcasses collected at one time.

Additional fee for collection service requested by customer
in addition to the scheduled service on a 90 gallon
container.
$15.00
Additional fee for any location (other than residential)
where the container was blocked and the collection vehicle
must return to provide service.

Additional fee for collection service requested by customer
in addition to the scheduled service on a 300 gallon or 400
gallon container.

Additional fee for delivery and set-up on any city-owned,
roll-off container.

Additional fee for collection service requested by customer
in addition to the scheduled service on a 2 cubic yard
container.

Additional fee for collection service requested by customer
in addition to the scheduled service on a 2 cubic yard
compactor.

Ordinance No. 1845, Approved March 22, 1990.

landfill charge."
