HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-27-01-11.11 - Resolution - 09/27/2001RESOLUTION NO. 9-27-01-11.11 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A TEXAS HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY PROGRAM GRANT AGREEMENT FOR THE INTERSECTION TRAFFIC CONTROL SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation has proposed that the City of College Station participate in its Intersection Traffic Control Selective Traffic Enforcement Program to reduce risk -taking behavior in high frequency crash intersections by aggressive enforcement of moving violations; and WHEREAS, the Intersection Traffic Control Selective Traffic Enforcement Program is effective from October 1, 2001, to September 30, 2002, during which time the City of College Station shall be reimbursed for the expenses incurred to operate the program; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station believes the citizens will benefit from the City participating in this Intersection Traffic Control Selective Traffic Enforcement Program; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: PART 1: That the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, hereby approves the grant contract for $35,260 for the Police Department. PART 2: That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby authorizes the Mayor to sign the Intersection Traffic Control Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Grant Agreement referred to above. PART 3: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
