JOINT LEGISLATIVE MEETING
Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at 12:00 Noon
City Hall Training Room
The meeting began at 12:05 p.m. College Station officials present were James Massey, Ron
Silvia, Anne Hazen, Winnie Garner and Tom Brymer. Bryan officials were Russell Bradley,
Kenny Mallard, Mike Beal and Mike Conduff.
The group discussed the proposed smoking ordinance. Mr. Beal reported on responses from a
restaurant owner who disagrees with the county's approach in banning smoking in restaurants.
A special meeting agenda with city and county officials as well as an item for public input is
scheduled for November 2 at the Brazos Center. A joint press release will be coordinated by the
cities.
Another item of business related to the topic of utility issues. The group discussed cooperative
efforts regarding utilities.
No action was taken. Hearing no objection, the meeting adjourned at 1:05 p.m.
