Project Update
As of November 11, 2014.
1. Veterans Shop Expansion — Site work mostly due to weather. Still a lot of dirt to be moved. We
should start seeing progress on the building within the next week or two.
2. Synthetic Field Drainage — Drainage is complete. Hydro -mulch was completed 11/7/2014
3. Veterans Shelter — Project complete. Contractor still has a little clean and a small punch list to
work on but otherwise the shelter looks great.
4. Raintree - Still waiting on the metal roof. Metal roof should be in, in 2-3 weeks.
5. Festival site Outlets — Dailey Electric was the low bidder. Work will start after the first of the
year.
6. Festival Site Restrooms — After calling three references (Cities of Bastrop, Giddings, and La
Grange), Gaeke Construction was selected as the contractor for this project. Project will still
have to go before Council in December.
7. Pebble Creek - This project is now complete. Kids are playing on the retrofitted playgrounds
daily.
8. 502 Boyett — All paperwork has been submitted to purchasing. Once the bid packet is put
together, purchasing will request bids.
9. Southwood Curb painting and speed bumps — Currently setting up meetings with contractors
for quotes.
10. Thomas/ Bee Creek Project - This project is ready to go before Council on November 24th. All
paperwork, maps, and cover sheet had been sent.
11. Allison and EPICS —The GIS group was added to our IT system Thursday (11/6/14). Allison has
gathered roughly 70% of the Parks assets already. Next step is for the group to start adding
historical data and inputting that data into a user friendly format for our crews to reference.
12. Georgie K Fitch — Currently exploring ways to upgrade the existing playground.
