Speaker Protocol An individual who wishes to address the City Council regarding any item on the agenda other than those items posted for Executive Session shall register with the City Secretary two (2) hours prior to the meeting being called to order. Individuals must register to speak or provide written comments at https://forms.cstx.gov/Forms/CSCouncil or provide a name and phone number by calling 979-764- 3500. Upon being called to speak an individual must state their name and city of residence, including the state of residence if the city is located out of state. Speakers are encouraged to identify their College Station neighborhood or geographic location. Each speaker’s remarks are limited to three (3) minutes. Any speaker addressing the Council through the use of a translator may speak for six (6) minutes. At the (3) minute mark the City Secretary will announce that the speaker must conclude their remarks. 2.Special Items. 2.1. Budget & Financial Summary: N/A Attachments: 1.YD_Runoff Election Canvassing Ordinance Final 1222 ts 2.YD_Runoff Election Canvassing Ordinance Spanish Final 1222 ts Page 3 of 8 ORDINANCE NO. ___________________ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF THE RUNOFF ELECTION HELD ON DECEMBER 14, 2021, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER PLACE 6. RECITALS: 1. On November 11, 2021 the City Council ordered that a Runoff Election be held on December 14, 2021 for the purpose of electing a City Councilmember Place 6. 2. Notice of this election was duly published in The Eagle on November 17 & 24, 2021 and in La Voz Hispana on November 19 & 26, 2021. 3. A copy of the notice was posted on the bulletin board at City Hall on November 12, 2021. 4. This election was duly and legally held on December 14, 2021, in conformity with the election laws of the State of Texas, and the results of the election have been certified and returned by the proper judges and clerks. 5. The City Council of the City of College Station, Texas with the following members present: Mayor Karl Mooney, Councilmembers Bob Brick, John Crompton, Linda Harvell, Elizabeth Cunha, John Nichols, and Dennis Maloney have today considered the returns of the Runoff Election held on December 14, 2021. 6. It appears to the Council, and the Council finds, that the election was in all respects lawfully held. 7. It appears to the Council, and Council finds, that the tabulation of the results of the election is correct. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The Runoff Election of December 14, 2021 was duly called, notice of the election was given in accordance with law, and the election was held in accordance with law. SECTION 2. The tabulation of votes cast in the Runoff Election held on December 14, 2021, was for the purposes stated in Recital 1 above, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part of this Ordinance and is adopted as the official tabulation of the votes cast at the election. The tabulation will be filed and recorded in the official records of the City of College Station as the official canvass of the election. SECTION 3. The official canvass of the returns of the election reflects the following: A. For the City Councilmember, Place 6: Page 4 of 8 Dennis Maloney 1,332 David Levine 943 SECTION 4. That Dennis Maloney received a majority of the votes and is elected to serve as City Councilmember, Place 6. CONSIDERANDOS: 1. El 11 de noviembre del 2021, el Consejo Municipal ordenó que el 14 de diciembre de 2021 se llevará a cabo una elección de segunda vuelta con el propósito de elegir al Miembro del Consejo Municipal para el Lugar 6. 2.Un aviso oficial de esta elección se publicó debidamente en los periódicos The Eagle el 17 y 24 de noviembre del 2021 y en La Voz Hispana el 19 y 26 de noviembre del 2021. 3.
