CITY OF COLLEGE STATION
WHEREAS, the City's current Comprehensive Development Plan
was published in March, 1975, and adopted in September, 1976, and
WHEREAS, the City of College Station is in a period of very
rapid growth and changing conditions, and
WHEREAS, the periodical review of the Comprehensive Development
Plan has indicated a need to revise part of the Plan to reflect
these changing conditions, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station
held a public hearing to consider the proposed revisions on March
24, April 14, April 28, May 4, May 26, and June 9, 1977, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to adopt the
revisions herein described as amendments to the Comprehensive
Development Plan.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Comprehensive Development
Plan of the City of College Station is hereby amended as reflected
in the attached map, Addendum Map A (Major Thoroughfare Plan) and
Addendum Map B (Land Use Plan), and more specifically as follows:
Major Thoroughfare Plan
Welsh Avenue: change from secondary thoroughfare to
collector from Holleman Drive to Luther Street; delete
as secondary thoroughfare from Luther Street to Jersey
Street; realign south of FM 2818 according to Addendum
Map A.
2. Dexter Street: designate as a collector from Jersey
Street to Holleman Drive.

Glade Street: delete connection to Jersey Street via
Timber Street; change from secondary thoroughfare to
collector from Anna Street to Southwest Parkway.
4. Anderson Street: designate as secondary arterial from
Jersey Street to Southwest Parkway.
5. Park Place: delete as collector.
6. Haines Street: delete as collector.

7. Delete A&M campus streets.
8. Holleman Drive: extend as a secondary arterial from
Wellborn Road to FM 2818.
9. Delete major and secondary thoroughfares and collectors
west of Wellborn Raod and south of FM 2818 except as shown
on Addendum Map A.
10. Revise thoroughfare system between Wellborn Road and Texas
Avenue and south of ~M 2818 as shown on Addendum Map A.
11. Delete Inlow Boulevard and Spruce and Cherry Streets as
collectors.
12. Designate Cross Street as a collector from Nagle Street to
College Avenue.
13. Delete grade separations except as shown on Addendum Map A.
14. Delete secondary and major thoroughfares and collectors
east of East Bypass except as shown on Addendum Map A.
15. Revise thoroughfare system between Harvey Road, East Bypass,
and Texas Avenue according to Addendum Map A.
16. Delete collector east of Merry Oaks Drive.
17. Munson Avenue: change from secondary thoroughfare to
collector from Dominik Drive to Harvey Road.
18. Stallings Drive: delete as collector.
19. James Parkway: delete as collector.
20. Delete collector from East Bypass to collector east of
Gerry Oaks Drive.
21. Eisenhower Street: delete as collector.
22. Lincoln Avenue: revise near Texas Avenue as shown on
Addendum Map A.
23. Walton Drive: change from secondary thoroughfare to collector.
24. Designate Walton Drive and Kyle Avenue to Puryear Drive as
collectors.
25. Delete the Ashburn Avenue extension as a secondary thoroughfare.
26. Fed Mart Drive: delete as secondary thoroughfare.
27. Tarrow Street: designate as secondary arterial.
28. Puryear Drive: change from secondary thoroughfare to a
collector from Dominik Driv~.~~ey Road.

29. Designate signalized intersections as shown on
Addendum Map A.
Land Use Plan
1. Delete large commercial concentration at University Drive
and East Bypass.
2. Designate tract at northwest corner of FM 2818 and University
Drive as light industrial.
3. Delete park near Longmire Drive.
4. Revise area bounded by Jersey Street, Wellborn Road, and
FM 2818 as shown on Addendum Map B.
5. Areas shown as "Flood Plain" on the present Plan are re-
designated "Flood Hazard Zone" on Addendum Map B.
6. Delete "undeveloped areas". Designate areas of highest
annexation potential by hatching as shown on Addendum Map B.
7. Residential areas are revised to indicate separate types of
density allowances:
Low Density Residential
Medium Density Residential
High Density Residential

24 d.u./net acre
over 24 d.u./net acre
Delete the park on Lincoln Avenue near Texas Avenue.
Reduce commercial at FM 2818 and Wellborn Road as shown on
AddendumMap B.
10. Designate commercial at:

Southwest Parkway and Welsh Avenue
Southwood Drive and FM 2818
Holleman Drive and Welsh Avenue
North of University Drive from Jane Street to MacArthur Street
West of Texas Avenue at Southwest Parkway
Luther Street and FM 2818
Anderson Street and Holleman Drive
Deacon Drive and Longmire Drive
Jersey Street and Highland Street
