Reed. Marci Rodgers will ask Joe LeCour and Catherine Lamb if they
would like to serve.

Members Present: Patricia Boughton, Frank Camplone, Robert Meyer, Haskell Monroe,
Neal Nutall, Raymond Reed, Colleen Risinger, Yvonne Stevens and Joanna Yeager
Members Absent: E.E. Burns, Laura Holmes, Catherine Lamb, Joe LeCour, Dipankar Sen
and Betty Wilborn.
Staff Present: Marci Rodgers, Senior Services Coordinator
I. Call to order. The meeting was called to order by Robert Meyer, Chairman, at
1:31pm.
IL Hear visitors. No visitors
III. Approval of minutes from regular meeting on August 30, 2004.
Haskell Monroe made the motion that the minutes be approved. Patricia Boughton
seconded the motion. The motion passed.
IV. Senior Olympics. Marci Rodgers reported that the Brazos Valley Senior Olympics
will take place in April 2005. A planning committee is in place and events offered
will include: basketball, bowling, cycling, golf, horseshoes, softball, swimming,
tennis, track and field, triathlon, volleyball, washers, bridge and volleyball.
College Station Parks and Recreation will host the volleyball and bridge events.
Volunteers will be needed. The Brazos Valley Sports Foundation and Bryan-
College Station Convention and Visitors Bureau are coordinating the event.
V. Committee Reports:
• Program Sub-Committee: Joanna Yeager reported on the Lunch/Lecture
held on Wednesday, September 22 at the College Station Conference
Center. The topic was "Styling Jim Crow: African American Beauty
Schools and Beauticians" with Dr. Julia Black. The luncheon was held at
12:30pm instead of 11:30am to allow for those attending the Neal Donavan
service. Approximately 35 attended the luncheon. The Senior World
Passport Program featuring the country of Africa was held on Monday,
September 27th The Texas A&M African Students Association presented a
dance and style show. Upcoming programs include the film Spellbound at
the George Bush Library on Thursday, September 30th and a day trip to
