SEPTEMBER 30, 1943
The Ceunoil met in a called meeting at the City Office
at 7:30 PM for purpose of hearing on the Budget for
1943-44.
Those present:E. Langford, Mayor; Councilmen: J. A. Orr,
R. L. Brown and M. T. Harrington; Business Manager,
L. D. Smith; visitors: James Sullivan and T. B. Thompson.
The budget was adopted and L. D. Smith was instructed to
file it with the proper authorities-.
Mr. Sullivan discussed the matter of closing the alley
between Park Place and Dexter Drive.
Mr. Thompson discussed with the City Council the possi-
bility of plans for the future expansion for layout of
Brazos County, which would include the cities of Bryan,
College Station and Brazos County.
The Mayor and business Manager was authorized to issue
certificates of cancellation for taxes when necessary.
The Mayor was authorized to appoint a committee for
Civic Improvement, particularily for the post-war period.
