HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/04/2018 - Regular Minutes - Historic Preservation Committee MINUTES Historic Preservation Committee Monday, June 04, 2018 – 4:00 pm Municipal Court 300 Krenek Tap Road College Station, Texas 77842 The City Council may or may not attend the Historic Preservation Committee Regular Meeting. Present: Louis Hodges Sherry Frisk Marilyn Randall Chantal Vessali Shirley Dupriest Benjamin Zimmer City Staff: Andrea Lauer Brooke Lisenbardt David Schmitz 1. Called to order and announced a Quorum at 4 p.m. 2. Willie Wright and Gerald Burgner submitted an absence request and they were approved. 3. The Historic Preservation Committee voted unanimously to approve the May minutes. 4. No visitors were present. 5. The Historic Home Tour Brochure had no new information. College Station History Book had no new information. Gerald Burgner and Lou Hodges will try to get students to volunteer at the College Station 80th Anniversary Celebration. Lou will bring information back to this committee after the June 26th meeting with the 80th Anniversary Committee. Sherry Frisk and Shirley Dupriest are continuing their research on the cemetery project and have 190 names on the research list so far . Sherry Frisk would like input from this committee regarding the criteria to make the final list. Two Historic Marker applications were received and approved. 1102 Detroit 500 Holleman Drive Brooke Lisenbardt is in the process of conducting Oral History interviews, and has been talking to the McCulloch Neighborhood and is helping them with a community grant and Historic Marker applications. She will be leaving the City of College Station the first week in June. Ben Zimmer and Marilyn Randal have scheduled speakers for Exploring History Lunch lecture through 2018. 6. David Schmitz had nothing to report. 7. No upcoming local or area historical programs to report. 8. No future agenda items added. 9. Lou Hodges brought historic items for the committee to look at. 10. Meeting was adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
