4. Stephanie Hilliard from the Brazos Heritage Society was present as a visitor. She wanted to
introduce herself to the Historic Preservation Committee so they could get to know each other and
possibly pull resources. Stephanie also stated that if we had any upcoming events or information
she would add it to their Facebook page.

received 20 letters out of 26 received. She added 703 Francis to the tour. She is putting the final
touches on the brochure.
6. Katherine Edwards gave an update on Exploring History Lunch Lecture. The April luncheon is
about Bernardo de Galvez and the May speaker is Tammy Tiner.
7. Mike Neu gave a presentation regarding the College Station History Book. The committee discussed
and came up with two motions.
The HPC approved two motions:
(1) HPC agrees to support the concept of updating the CS History book. All were in favor.
(2) HPC agrees to recommend providing $2000 in honorarium to Balliew and Denthloff out of the
75th anniversary fund account. All were in favor.
HPC also discussed providing some oversight of the project to the extent of staying in contact with
Balliew and Denthloff on progress, as well as researching costs for publishing and distribution of an
updated version. No motion to this effect, however, was formally approved.
HPC was also generally in favor of reformatting the book for publishing as an updated version, but
not necessarily in favor of supportin g funds to reprint the book in its original form.
