1. Call to Order
The 75th Anniversary Committee was called to order by Chair Linda Harvell at 8:30 a.m. on November
14, 2013 in the College Station City Hall, 1101 Texas Avenue, College Station, TX 77840.
2.Hear Visitors
No visitors.
3. Consider Approval of Previous Minutes
MOTION: The Committee voted unanimously to approve the minutes for November 7, 2013.
4. Sponsorship and Recoenition of Sponsors
The ribbon labels of Sponsor, Committee, and Contributor have been affixed to the nametags with the 75th
Anniversary logo and the donor's name.

5.Promotion and Media
Mike Neu reported that an advertisement for this week's events ran in the Eagle on Sunday,November
10th
He is also requesting that at least one committee member attend the filming of a walkthrough for local
news that will occur today at 1 p.m. The story will run Saturday and Sunday of this week.
In addition,the exhibit and opening weekend activities will be featured on Brazos Valley This Morning.
Jerry Cooper, Scott Simpson,Tommy Taylor,Linda Harvell, Tracy Paine and Mike Neu will be in
attendance for the live promotion starting at 5 a.m. on Friday,November 15th.
Linda Harvell has additional nametags and 75`x'Anniversary shirts.
6. Bush Library Exhibit Update
Docent training was at Bush Library on November 12t'' from 11-12 p.m. The committee is requesting
additional talking points from Mike Neu.
Mike Neu reported that the Bush Library exhibit most of the panels have been created and the space is
filled. The exhibit will be complete by the November 16t''opening.
7.Homecoming Events
November 12th Sponsor/Contributor VIP event:
The sponsor/contributor VIP event was held at the Bush Library along with the Insite Magazine launch on
November 12, 2013.
Committee chair Linda Harvell expressed her disappointment with the recognition portion of the event.
Jay Socol addressed the VIP attendees, chairperson Harvell felt that he failed to give proper recognition to
the committee members' efforts and contributions. In the future it is important that the committee be
given more appropriate recognition for their efforts.
Other committee members felt that the promotion of the events surrounding this week should have been
in more traditional venues such as newspapers, magazines, television and radio advertisements; however,
were primarily focused on social media, internet blogs, and word of mouth.
Friday,November 15 Homecoming event at Southwood:
Linda Harvell reported that liquor has been arranged and the entertainment will now be Burton Tyler. A
guarantee of 230 attendees has been given to J Cody.
Gary Ives displayed the potted roses for the centerpiece mugs.
David Schmitz reported that electricity, tables,tent and restrooms have all been coordinated.
Saturday November 16"' Event,Bush Library and Grounds:

Linda Harvell will be speaking at the 9:20 a.m. exhibit ribbon cutting. Mayor Berry will also speak along
with members from the Chamber of Commerce. The volunteer schedule is set; however, committee
members may be pulled and asked to work in other areas as needed.
Storytelling is scheduled from 10-12 p.m. Mike Neu will provide a schedule of speakers.
Mike Neu reported that food and refreshments for event have been ordered. The mobile food truck
reported previously will not be attending; it is unlikely that there is time to arrange a replacement. Staff
members from the Parks Department will be on hand to assist with parking, traffic, and car show
activities.
Tracy Paine and Mike Neu have purchased the plates,napkins, and cups have been purchased. Gloves for
servers will also be purchased.
Scott Simpson has arranged a public ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce; an invitation will be
extended by the Chamber to its membership.
1938 House Signage:
Jerry Cooper and Libby Vastano have distributed the home signs.
Mike Neu will have a small run of signs printed for additional homes.
8.Report- Car Show
B. B. Holland reported that enrollment is steady at 50 automobiles for the show, model years ranging
from 1910 to 1965.
Traffic control has been arranged for the morning.
9. A&M Garden Club
Jane Cohen reported that the rededication is set.
10. THE NEXT MEETING OF THE 75th ANNIVERSARY PLANNING COMMITTEE IS
SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY,November 20th,2013 at 8:30 a.m.
Mike Neu reported that roughly $26,000.00 has been invoiced for the event. The committee may discuss
the remaining budget and possible activities related to future expenditures.
