WORKSHOP

COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairman Rife, Commissioners Floyd, Hrin, Warren, and
Parker.
COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioners Mooney and Kaiser.

AGENDA ITEM NO. 1: Discussion of item on Regular Agenda.
Commissioner Warren asked what steps needed to be taken to encourage development of interior roads
to eliminate traffic problems onto Harvey Mitchell Parkway (Item No. 5). Transportation Planner Hard
assured the Commissioners that this preliminary plat met all standards and requirements. He said that
the area in discussion was actually state right -of -way and Staff is talking to Trot and the MPO about
developing a project that would continue this roadway to be highly limited, which would address Ms.
Warren's concerns. Mr. Hard said that as with the proposed preliminary plat there is nothing that needs
to be done.
Commissioner Parker had concern with the M -1 zoning district on the land shown in the preliminary plat
(Item No. 5.). Staff Planner Jimmerson explained that the applicant had not informed staff of any
intentions, they were subdividing the property for future potential uses.

b. Special Area Study — Highway 30160 Area
The Subcommittee met to consolidate and condense the public input received at the public meeting held
a few weeks ago. This information would be presented back to the citizens in the form of a public
hearing.

Commissioner Parker moved to adjourn the workshop meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Commissioner Warren seconded the motion, which passed unopposed -.
