Planning and Zoning Commission
SPECIAL WORKSHOP
September 12, 1983
3:30 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Hill, Hansen, Kaiser & Bailey
MEMBERS ASSENT: Miller, Kelly, Martyn
STAFF PRESENT: Asst Director of Planning Callaway ~ Planning Technician Volk
Northgate Committee Chairman Dan MacGilvray covered the synopsis of the final recom-
mendations of the committee. Mr. Hill voiced opposition to creating a special zoning
district in the commercial area of the Northgate study area until some of the parking
problems are solved, stating that a larger parking problem will result than currently
exists. He also indicated he is concerned with equity if this is rezoned, but would
favor implementation of the parking changes immediately.
Mr. Kaiser asked if this could be presented in some sort of package, with steps
indicated. He said that he would not be for recommending rezoning of this area until
• after Council has seen these final recommendations and made some ruling on them.
After further discussion concerning how rezoning this area would or would not add to
the already overcrowded parking conditions, the meeting was adjourned.
