He described the planning being considered in other areas in relation to modular homes or manufactured housing. He estimated the expected population of College Station to be at 72,000 in the year 2000. The present employment figure of the University is 8,300 with growth projections to 20,000. Sam. Wyse presented alternative plans which could be considered as guidelines for future potential development and asked for input from staff and commissioners of how they see the future development of the area. • Discussion regarding a method to encourage public participation in the workshop meetings took place. Commissioner Kelly commended the media for their coverage and stated he had personally invited five people who had not come to the meeting. Chairman Behling agreed that the media had done an excellent job of coverage and expressed his felling that there was no reason for anyone to feel uninformed. It was agreed the schedule of meetings suggested by the consultants in their original proposal would be used as a guideline for future meetings with the next meeting to be set for early December.
