Regular Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting
July 1, 1976
7:00 P. M.

Stover, Bailey, Burke; Council Liaison Gardner; City
Planner Mayo; City Engineer Ash; Planning Assistant Longley
MEMBERS ABSENT: None
VISITORS PRESENT: See guest register.
Agenda Item No. 1 -- Approval of minutes of meeting of June 17, 1976.
Commissioner Stover moved that the minutes be approved as written.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Etter and unanimously approved.
Agenda Item No. 2 -- Hear visitors.
No one spoke.
Agenda Item No. 3 _- Consideration of a preliminary plat - Parkway Plaza. Phase
III.
Mr. Frank Murphy spoke in favor of the proposed plat.
Commissioner White asked if there would be any requirement for screening the
~; parking area along Parkway Plaza Drive.
Mr. Mayo stated that, at this time, there was no requirement by ordinance for
screening of off-street parking areas.
Commissioner Stover suggested that with no parking allowed on Anderson Street,
the parking shown on the development plan would be inadequate.
Commissioner Stover moved that the Commission be presented with a more complete
preliminary layout before any action is taken on the plat.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner White and unanimously approved.
Agenda Item No. 4 -- Appointment of liaison to Parks and Recreation Committee.
Commissioner Burke volunteered to serve as liaison to the Parks and Recreation
Committee.
Agenda Item No. 5 ---Other business.
Commissioner Stover stated that the recommendations of the Transportation and
Landuse Subcommittees needed to be presented and coordinated.
The Commission set a special workshop session for this purpose on Tuesday,
July 6, 1976.
'~"'~ The Commission also directed that the regular meeting of July 15 be cancelled
and moved to Thursday, July 29.
Commissioner Stover suggested that the agenda for the July Fi workshop session
include discussion of proposed requirements for filing petitions for zone

change and revisions to parking requirements.

~~ Commissioner Mathewson suggested that the Landuse and Transportation Subcommittees
study the area bounded by Texas Avenue, Southwest Parkway and Holleman Drive
and that a public hearing on the recommendations of the Subcommittees be held
at the July 29 meeting.
Agenda Item No. 6 -- Ad'ourn.
Commissioner Stover moved that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was
seconded by Commissioner White and unanimously approved. The meeting was
adjourned.
