PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
• August 16, 1971
7:00 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Codie Wells; Commissioners Carl Landiss, M. R.
Calliham, James Wallace; Council Liaison Don Dale; City
Planner George Eby; and Administrative Secretary Nancy Reeves
MEMBERS ABSENT: Commissioners George Boyett and Robert Evans
VISITORS PRESENT: See Guest Register
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M, by the Chairman. On motion by
Commissioner Landiss, seconded by Commissioner Wallace, the minutes of the
meeting of July 28 were unanimously approved.
On motion by Commissioner Landiss, seconded by Commissioner Calliham, the pre-
liminary plat of Southwood Section 21, submitted by the Area Progress Corporation,
was unanimously approved, subject to the following staff recommendations: That the
final plat contain a statement indicating that all buildings shall be built above an ele-
vation to be determined by the design engineer and approved by the city engineer, and
that a variance be granted for the short radius on Bee Creek Drive.

The Chairman opened the public hearing on the new zoning ordinance and the new
• zoning district map. (See the attached transcript of the tape recorded at the public
hearing). The Chairman then closed the public hearing.
On motion by Commissioner Landiss, seconded by Commissioner Calliham, the
meeting was adjourned.
