PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS
August 3, 1970
7:00 p. m.
Members Present: Chairman C. D. Wells; Commissioners Douglas Stone,
Carl Tishler, J. A. Orr, and Bob Evans; Council Liaison
Bill J. Cooley; and City Planner George Eby
Members Absent: Commissioners George Boyett and Carl Landiss
Visitors Present: Edward H. Miller, Frank Griffis and Fredda King
Chairman Wells called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Room at
the City Hall.
On motion by Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commissioner Evans, the Minutes
of the July 20, 1970 meeting were approved as written.
The new Subdivision Ordinance was reviewed carefully to determine the variations
from the previous ordinance, and to establish a clear understanding of the requirements
and the procedure to be followed in handling future subdivision requests.
The amendment to the Street Ordinance No. 693 was also reviewed to establish
its relationship to the Subdivision Ordinance, and other changes that had been made.
It was agreed by the Commissioners that the Comprehensive Plan for Development
should be brought up to date, particularly with reference to location of parks, school sites,
and principal streets in the newly annexed area of the city.
On motion by Commissioner Orr, seconded by Commissioner Tishler, the meeting
was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
